OPTION 1 (Upper and Lowercase Matching): Choose four letters you would like for your child to practice. We recommend you use F as one of the four letters. Write the uppercase letter on half of the egg and the corresponding lowercase letter on the other half. Have your child match up the halves.
OPTION 2 (Upper and Lowercase Matching with Other Letter Options): This option is similar to option 1, but instead of writing only one lowercase letter on the second half, you can write three of four different ones (like multiple choice). Your child can then place the two halves together so that the upper and lowercase letters are matching side-by-side.
OPTION 3 (Word Families): Use the eggs to write word families. For example, you can write a p, w, b, and d on half of the egg and “ig” on the other half. Have your child turn the halves of the egg to make different words in the same word family. Here are some recommended word families:
- pig (big, dig, wig, rig, gig, fig, jig)
- hen (den, men, pen, ten)
- hat (bat, cat, fat, mat, pat, rat, sat)
